Skip into Spring with TLABC friends and colleagues at the fourth annual Spring Soirée!
The evening includes the presentation of TLABC's Awards of Distinction (formerly Bench & Bar Awards) to recognize and celebrate outstanding individuals and their contributions to the legal profession.
This year's recipients are...
2026 Distinguished Jurist Award
THE HONOURABLE DAVID CROSSIN KC
The Honourable David Crossin KC is a distinguished litigator and jurist whose career has spanned more than 40 years in criminal, commercial, and administrative law, including appearances in many of British Columbia’s most complex and high-profile cases. Appointed to the bench in 2017, retired Justice Crossin served until 2025 and has now returned to practice at DJA Counsel.
Having held leadership roles within the profession, including serving as President of the Law Society of British Columbia, Chair of the Legal Services Society (now Legal Aid BC), and as a Life Bencher of the Law Society, not to mention being a long-standing member of TLABC until being called to the Bench, his longstanding dedication to mentorship and access to justice has left a lasting mark on the legal community.
2026 Distinguished Advocate Award
AGNES HUANG
Agnes Huang practices with Saltwater Law, primarily in family law and child and family policing law. She is a member of TLABC’s Family Law Committee, the Verdict Editorial Board, and the Women Lawyers’ Retreat Committee, and serves on the board of the Society of Children and Youth of BC. Agnes contributes to Child and Family Services Law and Practice (CLEBC) and supports TLABC’s Family Law education programming both as a co-chair and behind the scenes.
Agnes brings authenticity, generosity, and professionalism to all aspects of her work, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance whenever needed. She actively builds connections within the legal community, particularly with junior lawyers, creating opportunities for mentorship and inclusion. Her leadership is quiet but powerful, rooted in integrity and kindness.
