Join our panel of speakers to gain insight as to how how emotions and individual differences impact negotiation performance and success. The panel will offer some practical tools for client preparation to identify emotional mine-fields and to maximize the benefits of negotiation and mediation. Come prepared for the live Q&A session. 

About the Speakers:
Gaynor Yeung, Whitelaw Twining
Gaynor Yeung has resolved many complex matters through informal negotiations and formal mediations for clients including leading property and casualty insurers, international retail corporations, motor vehicle carriers, and leasing companies. Where resolution has not been possible, Gaynor has appeared before all levels of British Columbia courts, juries, and specialized administrative tribunals. Gaynor’s experience and knowledge from decades of litigating in an array of specialty areas has prepared her well for her practice as a mediator. Along with her technical understanding of litigated issues, she brings an intuitive and compassionate approach to mediation.

Kathleen Duffield, Twining, Short & Haakonson
Kathleen Duffield has practiced as a litigator since being called to the bar in 1995. She has represented clients in matters in B.C. and Alberta and has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. Her clients have included specialty insurers, leading property and casualty insurers, municipalities and individuals. Kathleen’s knowledge of a broad range of practice areas has prepared her well for her practice as a mediator.
