Anyone who has practiced in family law or criminal law knows that these two areas are often deeply intertwined. This can complicate the client's case and lead to unintended consequences, particularly if counsel are unaware of the broader implications of taking a certain step or making admissions in one forum.

This session’s speakers will give you practical advice about how to spot intersections between criminal and family law and how to handle those situations. Topics for discussion include how to handle MCFD interventions arising from allegations of child abuse, the restrictions on sharing disclosure from a criminal case with family lawyers, managing conflicting criminal and family court orders, and more.
