Ensuring Access to the Courts

The public's ability to access justice - e.g. to obtain legal help or to have a matter heard before the courts - is often threatened by legislative changes or proposals. Ensuring the doors to the country's courthouses remain open is an ongoing aim of TLABC and an effort requiring proper care, attention and scrutiny.

PST on Legal Fees
TLABC requests your support in urging the Government of British Columbia to stop imposing the 7% provincial tax on legal fees. Download the sample letter below and send it to your MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) and BC Attorney General Wally Oppal. You can locate the contact information for all MLAs and AG Oppal here.

NOTE: Any letter written to an MLA needs to be addressed properly and signed by the letter writer.
